Domino Therapy
Domino Therapy is a hands on, visual way of helping young people understand what’s happening underneath their reactions. I offer this individually or as part of a group.
You might notice your child or teen:
-
Struggling with behaviour
-
Gets angry
-
Has a low mood
-
Gets overwhelmed quickly
-
Has big reactions that seem to come out of nowhere
-
Shuts down or withdraws
-
Struggles to explain what they’re feeling

Making sense of what’s happening inside
Not every young person finds it easy to sit and talk about how they feel. Domino Therapy offers another way in. Using dominoes, we begin to explore things like:
-
What builds up over time
-
What might trigger a reaction
-
How one small thing can lead to something much bigger
It helps make sense of emotions in a way that feels calm and easier to manage. It can feel less intense, less exposing or easier to engage with. This often allows young people to open up at their own pace, without feeling pushed.
How it helps
Over time, Domino Therapy can support your child or teen to understand their feelings more clearly. They begin to recognise patterns and triggers feeling more in control of their reactions. Over time they build confidence in expressing themselves
Is this right for my child or teen?
This can be especially helpful for:
-
Anxiety and overwhelm
-
Big emotional reactions
-
Teens who don’t want traditional talking therapy
-
Shuts down or withdraws
-
Struggles to explain what they’re feeling
-
Young people who feel stuck in patterns they don’t understand

How sessions work
I offer Domino Therapy as individual 1:1 sessions and small, carefully matched, age appropriate group sessions (2 – 4 young people).
Sessions run over a 6-week block, with the same young people attending each week, allowing confidence and trust to build gradually over time.

Next steps for groups
I form groups gradually to ensure each young person feels comfortable and supported.
If you’d like to explore whether this might be right for your child, feel free to get in touch. We can have a brief chat so I can understand a little more about them and what they’re finding difficult. I’ll then let you know if there’s a suitable group forming, or keep you updated as one develops. If needed, individual sessions can be a helpful starting point in the meantime.

Alternatively you're very welcome to contact me with an already formed group.
