A different way to support your young person

Lego-based therapy offers a gentle, structured way for children and young people to build confidence and connection without the pressure of having to talk about things directly. Lego based therapy can be used in individual sessions or as part of a group, working alongside others in a calm and supported environment.

You might notice your young person:

  • Finds group situations overwhelming

  • Becomes anxious in social situations

  • Becomes frustrated or shuts down

  • Worries about getting things wrong

  • Finds it hard to express feelings, or doesn’t engage with talking

  • Struggling with friendships

  • Becomes quiet, withdrawn, or unsure

How it works in groups

As a therapist specialising in counselling children and young people and a qualified teacher with over 20 years experience; I create small, carefully matched, age appropriate groups of 2 – 4 young people.

Each session is structured in a way that helps young people feel safe and know what to expect, while still allowing space for their individual needs and personalities.

I work to understand and connect with each young person and support them to:

  • Communicate more comfortably

  • Take turns and share ideas

  • Manage frustration

  • Feel part of something

Sessions run over a 6-week block, with the same young people attending each week, allowing confidence and trust to build gradually over time.

Next steps for groups

I form groups gradually to ensure each young person feels comfortable and supported.

If you’d like to explore whether this might be right for your child, feel free to get in touch. We can have a brief chat so I can understand a little more about them and what they’re finding difficult.

I’ll then let you know if there’s a suitable group forming, or keep you updated as one develops.

If needed, individual sessions can be a helpful starting point in the meantime.

Alternatively you're very welcome to contact me with an already formed group.

Booking & Payment

Groups are booked in 6-week blocks to support consistency and progress.

The cost for the full block is £240.

A £120 deposit is required to secure a space, with the remaining balance due before the group begins.

As spaces are limited and reserved in advance.

I’m Sally,

If you’re looking through therapist websites trying to work out who you might actually feel comfortable talking to, I know how difficult that decision can be.

You might be wondering whether I’ll understand. Whether you’ll know what to say. Whether your problems are 'big enough' for therapy. Whether they're 'too big' and you won’t know where to start. Or whether you’ll sit down and suddenly wish you hadn’t come. You don’t need to arrive knowing where to start.

I’m an integrative therapist and I work with adults, young people and children. I’m down-to-earth, genuine, interested in the person behind whatever has brought you to therapy, and I care. I won’t expect you to fit into a particular box or follow a set formula.

My work with adults often explores the parts of life that can be difficult to explain: why you react so strongly to certain things, why you feel responsible for everyone else, why saying no brings guilt, or why you have lost sight of who you are.

Our early experiences, relationships and sense of belonging can influence our self-worth, boundaries and the roles we take on throughout adulthood. Understanding these patterns can help you make sense of who you have become and begin choosing what feels right for you now.

Before becoming a therapist, I spent many years working with children, young people and families as a teacher. This experience, alongside my MSc in counselling children and young people, informs the way I support younger clients and understand the different parts of their lives.

Sometimes being genuinely heard by somebody who isn’t judging, fixing or expecting anything from you can be the beginning of something changing.

Behaviour, emotions and difficulties can be a way of communicating what’s happening beneath the surface.

Anger School refusal Withdrawal People-pleasing Overwhelm

Anxiety Fear Past experiences Needing control Sensory overload Low self-esteem Neurodivergence Difficult relationships

There’s often more underneath.

And what about your physical health?

Do you have unexplained aches and pains? Do you feel tired, even after a night’s sleep?

Have you found yourself living with rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, multiple sclerosis, psoriasis, inflammatory bowel disease, an autoimmune thyroid condition, fibromyalgia or another chronic health condition?

Research has found links between adverse experiences in childhood and an increased risk of some chronic and autoimmune conditions later in life. Scientists are exploring how prolonged stress may affect our stress-response, inflammatory and immune systems.

This does not mean that childhood experiences caused your illness. These conditions are complex and have many contributing factors.

But adversity isn’t always something we recognise as trauma.

Whatever has brought you here, you don’t need to have the right words for it.

I provide a space that gives you somewhere to bring the things that are difficult to say anywhere else. Somewhere to understand what you’re feeling, where it may have come from and what you need now. You don’t have to work it all out alone.

You don't need to be in crisis to come to therapy. You might simply be tired of feeling anxious, overwhelmed or stuck. You might want healthier relationships, stronger boundaries or a better understanding of why you think and feel the way you do. Whatever has brought you here, you don't have to face it alone.

Every person is different, so therapy shouldn't follow a script. Sometimes we talk. Sometimes we explore patterns from the past. Sometimes we use creative approaches or practical strategies. Together we'll find an approach that feels right for you.

Taking the first step can feel daunting, and you don't have to commit to therapy straight away.

I offer a free 20-minute phone or Zoom conversation where you can ask questions, tell me what's been happening and decide whether I'm the right therapist for you.
